“We develop innovative event formats on current topics with leading experts from the fields of economics, politics, technology and environment.”
Vincent Nölting
Founder
Since its founding in 2013, THE BLUE has become one of the most successful event concepts in the field of renewable energy. Counting five discrete formats and thousands of visitors since its premiere at the global wind sector trade show, WindEnergy Hamburg 2014, THE BLUE has turned the spotlight on current topics relating to business, politics and technology. What sets the format apart is its independence. That is why renewable energy companies use this platform to present their executive staff to a specialist audience at the leading trade shows and conventions of the German wind industry, in a conscious move to face their competitors, strengthen their market position and sharpen their focus and perception. Since its introduction, THE BLUE has garnered the support of first- and second-tier executives and selected experts from more than fifty renowned enterprises and corporations, who have acted as sponsors, delivered keynote presentations and participated in panel discussions.

WindEnergy Hamburg
From 23 to 26 September 2014, the premiere of the Global Wind Summit took place in Hamburg, the capital of the wind industry: 1,250 exhibitors from all over the world presented their product innovations and projects to 33,000 visitors at WindEnergy Hamburg. The world's leading wind energy show for the onshore and offshore wind energy industry reflected the global market and the entire value chain. In 2016 and 2018, WindEnergy Hamburg further expanded its position as the most important platform of the global wind industry. Many of the 1,482 exhibitors from 40 different countries at the world's leading trade fair of the onshore and offshore wind industry announced product launches and business deals. The next WindEnergy Hamburg will take place from 27 to 30 September 2022.
Hannover Messe (Fair) 2015
The Hannover trade fair consists of various leading international trade fairs that reflect the entire industrial value chain. Individual leading trade fairs are represented at the fair every two years, so that the image of the Hannover trade fair is always changing. In 2014, the Hannover Fair took place from 7 to 11 April. The host country was India and was opened by German Chancellor Angela Merkel under the motto Industry 4.0.
HUSUM Wind
As the German platform for the cutting-edge technology, variety and the innovative power of the German market and surrounding regions, the exhibition reflects the whole lifecycle of a wind turbine. There are also current political and technical topics on the agenda, like the expiration of the Renewables Resources Act funding. The Husum venue could not be more authentic; situated in the middle of North Frisia, the cradle of the wind industry, HUSUM Wind has always been more than just a trade fair. It is the Husum atmosphere, the congress and special events, all bonded together by the special Husum spirit, that make it so unique. Everyone who has been here senses this mixture of business and meeting-up again, policymaking and energy – and always returns.
Windenergietage
The “Windenergietage” convention is the leading specialist conference of the German wind power sector, with an accompanying exposition featuring approximately 300 exhibitors. Organized by Spreewind GmbH, the “Windenergietage” gathering premiered in 1995 and is held in eastern Germany in November of each year. The two-and-a-half-day program features 20 to 30 expert forums per day with about 450 presentations in total. Since 2012, attendance has grown from 650 to some 2,500 visitors, making it one of the most important events for the German wind power industry next to the world’s leading wind energy show, WindEnergy Hamburg, and the national showcase, Husum Wind. To mark the 25th anniversary of the conference, Nölting GmbH was commissioned by the organizers to develop the publication “Windgeschichte erzählen”, which led to the creation of the event magazine “Spreewind-Spiegel”.
RENEWABLE ENERGY HAMBURG CLUSTER AGENCY
Since autumn 2010 the industry network Renewable Energy Hamburg has been offering interested stakeholders the ideal platform for networking and information as the central regional industry network. The core elements of cluster activities have been in offshore and onshore wind energy, together with solar energy, renewable heat, sector coupling and storage. Renewable Energy Hamburg was founded by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the Registered Association for the Promotion of the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster. Both have interests of 51 and 49 per cent respectively in the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster Agency. Together with his team, Managing Director Jan Rispens coordinates the cluster’s activities and represents it externally. Renewable Energy Hamburg includes some 190 companies in the Metropolitan Region of Hamburg from the sectors of finance, research, production, project development and legal consultancy.

Renewable Energy Federation (BEE)
The German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) is the umbrella organization for German renewable energy associations. The federation was founded in 1991 and represents the overall interests of the renewable energy industry in the political and public sphere. Our 49 member organizations unite the sectors of wind and solar energy, biomass, water power and geothermal energy and represent a total of over 30,000 individual members and companies. BEE is actively promoting renewable energy on an EU level, federal level and state level.
German Wind Energy Association
In reshaping its energy supply system, Germany is a role model for many countries. Since its founding in 1996, the German Wind Energy Association (Bundesverband WindEnergie e.V. or BWE) has played a major role in that process. With some 20,000 members, it is one of the world’s largest associations in the renewables sector. For years, the BWE has been increasingly successful in efficiently expanding wind power in Germany for the long term. Furthermore, our experts work in such international associations as the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) in developing wind energy within Europe and worldwide.
